Software Developer Placements

Applying for your first professional software developer role can be a daunting and frustrating experience.

Despite their being a plethora of positions available in the software industry and a growing demand; most companies require applicants to have previous experience working with various different programming languages and also working in a professional environment i.e. working to KPI's, strict deadlines and communicating with team members and clients to be able to cope with the demands of complex projects.

From an employers perspective, enrolling new employees is expensive and can take a lot of time, money and resources introducing them to complex and demanding projects. Therefore they need to be sure that they are hiring competent individuals who can “hit the ground running" and become an integral team member.

Our work placement and internship programs provides a pathway for relatively inexperienced but raw talented coders to get their foot onto the career ladder.

We provide an engaging platform for enterprising individuals to enter the world of computer science by learning code in a peer-to-peer professional and positive working environment so learners can build on their skills and work through a structured roadmap.

As a placement student we help you build a portfolio using a range of coding languages starting with basic languages such as HTML working onto dynamic languages such as Javascript and PHP whilst also working with other industry recognised frameworks and programs.

This enables learners to build a structured portfolio of work over a number of weeks which will eventually be integral when in an interview process so you can showcase your work to the prospective employer.

Learners will be integrated into live working dev teams from day 1 working alongside seasoned coders and set real coding challenges which are to be viewed and used by real customers. Leaners will be introduced to Git and project management tools such as monday.com in order to prepare them for future expectations as a software developer.

As learners progress along the roadmap there will be options to take your learning into different directions based on whether you prefer working as a front end developer i.e. on websites, back end software or mobile applications. Each milestone learners meet will be reviewed by senior team members to ensure a good level of competency has been achieved.

Alongside our office based learning program learners will have access to platforms such as codeacademy to further harness their skills whilst other complimentary courses such as leadership and problem solving workshops are available.
